A short bio
Vehpi Yildirim is an Assistant Professor at Erasmus University Medical Center at the Department of Cardiology. He has a PhD in Biomedical Mathematics and years of experience in biomedical data analysis and computational modeling. His research relates to understanding the way nonlinear interactions within biological systems give rise to emergence of complex dynamical behaviors. He is particularly interested in human energy metabolism and electrophysiology of endocrine cells and cardiomyocytes. He is currently focusing on translational research in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, where he investigates the way electrical signals are propagated through the heart tissue and the way cardiac arrythmias are formed.
