A short bio
Selami Baglamis completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Biochemistry at Ege University. During his master's program, he delved into diverse areas such as nanoparticles, nanomaterials, controlled release systems, molecularly imprinted polymers, and affinity interaction systems. Following his master's, he embarked on his Ph.D. journey in Louis Vermeulen's lab at the Center for Experimental Molecular Medicine (CEMM), Amsterdam UMC, University of Amsterdam. Throughout his Ph.D., Selami's primary focus was on clonal dynamics in colorectal cancer (CRC). He explored cell competition among the most common mutated genes in CRC, utilizing various organoid models. One of his notable contributions was the development of a novel technique to generate mixed organoids for cell competition studies. Furthermore, he investigated the impact of human embryonic fibroblasts on clonal dynamics.
