A short bio
As a Ph.D. candidate at Amsterdam UMC in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery, Roland is deeply immersed in the fascinating realm of in-silico, in-situ and ad-clinicum scientific research. His current venture revolves around an ambitious project known as COMBI (COmputational Modeling of Burn Injuries). Throughout his doctoral journey, he is dedicated to developing a sophisticated computational model that intricately navigate the molecular and cellular intricacies governing the healing process of skin wounds post burn injuries. Roland's academic foundation lies in Biomedical Sciences(obtained in Portugal), specializing in the intricate Interdisciplinary fields of medical, cellular, and molecular mechanisms. Collaborating seamlessly with esteemed research entities such as the Molecular Cell Biology & Immunology (Skin Lab), multiple Burn centers(ABDC) in the Netherlands and the Computational Science Lab (CSLab), he is at the forefront of groundbreaking in-silico research. In close collaboration within these labs, Roland strives to unravel the cheatcodes for regeneration, ushering it one step closer to the future. Together within SEEDBiomed, he aims to propell the boundaries of knowledge, with his expertise centered on computational modeling of complex biological systems and dynamic cellular and molecular mechanisms.
